Psalm 23:4
Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way.
To my daughter, trying to deal with having lost a friend to suicide…
Letting Go
How can we let go of something so painful?
The sadness…Knowing the difficulties she faced.
The helplessness…Thinking you tried, but may have failed.
The anger…Knowing there is help and you did try, but she didn’t.
The guilt…Thinking you should have, could have done more.
The frustration…Wishing you had said something to change the outcome.
To let go…will you forget?
To let go…are you uncaring?
To let go…is that selfish?
No, you need
To feel all the feelings,
To cry the tears,
To make amends with the “what ifs”.
For there is nothing more difficult
Than feeling helpless
When those around us are in need.
And, then, say your prayers
That all is peaceful and calm
And, she is well taken care of
By Him who will never forsake us.
Remember,
Faith is believing in something
That you cannot touch.
Have faith in God,
For while you may not be able to touch Him
HE is holding you both
