My hope was for my daughter's interest in writing stories to be challenged and brought to the next level of excellence. She partnered with a friend and together they co-authored their book. The obstacles were "sharing" authorship plus her friend missed a few classes. Nevertheless, they overcame the obstacles and completed their book. This experience has opened my daughter up to other styles of writing and illustrating. In fact, she went on to write and illustrate another book. I highly recommend this program. Buckle your seat belt and come seriously ready to work toward the goal. This program will actually grow your child. Ann Kohl, Dover, NH
When asked if she would recommend our Summer Writing Camp, camper/AIT (Author in Training) had this to say: "YES! People who love to write should see how much effort it takes to make a book". Maddie, grade 8, Epsom NH
"I would absolutely recommend your Summer Writing Camp. This literacy program allowed those who attended to be creative without judgement and encouraged them to try new things without worrying about fitting in." Joanne Randall, Epsom, NH
"My daughter told all her friends I was making her take a summer writing class and she was not looking forward to it. She thought it was like summer school and she was dragging her feet on the first day. When I came to pick her up, it was all smiles and she said "that was so much fun". She spent the day writing and looking at pictures on the computer of what she wanted to draw. She was like that all week and she loved it. So, I was very impressed with how excited she was over the "dreadful summer school" I signed her up for. Great job!." Melissa Aho, Ultra Geothermal, Inc., Barrington, NH
"It was a real pleasure to witness your classes at the Comprensive Grammar School in Methuen, Ma. Your enthusiasm and active participation in each and every class that you spoke with is unbelievable. Students and teachers alike were very impressed when leaving your class, and commented on how inspiring you were with your presentation. As a Foster Grandparent, volunteering in the media center, I had a first hand look at the students and teachers as they exited your class, beaming with the energey and information they had just experienced. Your visit to CGS media center was a plus for all who had the opportunity to meet you." Ron LaCroix, CGS, Methuen Ma.
“Layne Case was great! She shared her story book “CHARLIE” with our 4-6 year old story time children and they loved it. They learned about creativity and perseverance. They really enjoyed the way the story was presented as she displayed each picture around the parameter of the room, and they loved the Charlie bookmarks they took home. It was a highlight for our young patrons!”
Wendy Rowe, Children Librarian – Barrington NH Public Library
“Truly a pleasure to have Layne come into our school for our Summer Camp Program. The children had a wonderful time and enjoyed her book, “CHARLIE”, a great deal”. Mrs. Mary Wernsdorfer, SC Director Tri-City Christian Academy Somersworth, NH
“I highly recommend Layne to your school. It is valuable for students to meet a local author and to realize that though a book may be a long time in the making, it can still become a published reality. Layne’s focus on the publishing aspect of writing fills a void that is rarely addressed in writing workshops for elementary students”.
Debbie Cooper, Title I, East Rochester School, Rochester, NH
